TAX EXEMPTION
Home / Tax Exemption
(1) What is an Income Tax Exemption in India, and how does it work?

Tax exemption is a legal deduction that lowers your total taxable income. Under various provisions of the Income Tax Act, 1961, you can gain partial or complete relief from taxes on specific portions of your income. Tax exemptions are offered by the government to encourage economic growth and support socially beneficial activities.

(2) How can I save on tax by donating to an NGO?

Under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961, donors can claim tax deductions for contributions made to eligible charitable organizations, provided the NGO is registered under the Act. You can claim this deduction by submitting the donation receipt and tax certificate issued by the foundation.

Section 80G allows taxpayers to claim a deduction from their gross total income for donations made to approved charitable entities. JBR Foundation is registered and approved under Section 80G, enabling donors to enjoy tax benefits.

Benefits & Calculations
